Oh, the agony.
[Sitting #1 | Sitting #2 | Sitting #3]
Can you believe I pay to have this done?? Well, I didn't pay for this particular sitting, but in general, I mean. I give someone money for them to inflict tremendous amounts of pain and permamently disfigure me. I mean, it's beautiful and all, sure, but there's something incredibly masochistic about the whole thing. And here I was all this time thinking I was on the sadist end of the spectrum. Ahh, well. Live and learn, I say. Live and learn.
MVP2
It's shaping up to be an all-Bay Area MVP-type situation. Barry Bonds won his record fourth MVP award yesterday, and Jason Giambi looks like a lock for his second-consecutive AL MVP award. Take that, New York and Arizona!
The problem is, though, that both of these guys are free agents, and there's a good chance that both Giambi and Bonds will be playing elsewhere next season. The Giants management has been making noises about re-signing Barry next season, and who knows how much of this is puffing and posturing, but neither the A's nor the Giants can afford to lose their MVP. So get it done, fellas. ßßß
OK, I lied. So sue me.
Yep, I'm back, for today and tomorrow at least. Family business is concluded, and I'm back at work. Highlights from my trip to Massachusetts include:
Highlights from the remainder of the weekend included spending loads of time ministering to my sick wife, going to see The Man Who Wasn't There (good, but shoulda been better it's the freakin' Coen brothers, after all), and jamming with a super-promising new band configuration. Details to come, but all I can say at this juncture is vive le rock!
Lowlights included getting tattooed last night. Yup, had my fourth sitting on my backpiece last night, and it was and hour and a half of agony. I promise I'll post pics tomorrow, but it was just too bloody and disgusting last night. I looked like I'd been eviscerated. But it's that much closer to being done now, and Scott refused to take any money. In return I am to give bass lessons to his girlfriend, which I was gonna do for free anyway. So that pretty much rules.
Oh, and here's my entry into Matt "Meca" Wilson's War 2001 Logo Contest. Yeah, I know it's not a logo per se, but I've never been one to follow directions, knawmean? Also, I apologize for the smallness of the piece, but I had to conform to Matt's draconian size requirements. Enjoy, or not. And lemme know what you think. ßßß
Don't miss last week's brilliant insight.
